I use Backblaze online backup(but hadnt backed up in 4 weeks with lots of photos uploaded - not to mention the chunked up way you would need to download iPhoto components to restore - or pay the $189 fee to have files prepped and shipped - glad the feature is there but.), but my NAS solution at home was not so great and always had issues with Time Machine so no local backup. Well my 2.5 year MBP started having issues - got real sluggish, started doing funky things and then it crashed. After a bunch of steps to get it back up, still lots of hard drive errors that even after repair still issues.
