It’s slightly annoying, but it’s also a drop in the bucket.ĭuring non-sales times, you can upgrade for the difference in price between the two versions. (The screen recording software I use, ScreenFlow, has annual updates that require a $39 upgrade.) You’ve been getting free upgrades for years. Clip Studio Paint (Mac/PC desktop edition) is a one time purchase. Tthe desktop edition, at least, is not a subscription. But, if you’ve been using CSP Pro for any length of time, you’ve gotten more than $25 worth of value out of it already. Yes, this feels a bit like they’re nickel and diming you. If you want to get EX on sale, you need to pay the full $109 sale price, whether you already have PRO or not. That level has not been included in any sale since.
It was $84, which is the difference between the EX and PRO sale prices. Up until the November 2020 sale, there was also a discount on the upgrade price to go from PRO to EX.
